No. 89: TONY LUCADELLO / "Wall of Dreams" revisited: What had started out as a story of kids with high hopes became the saddest that I've ever had occasion to write

I haven't read this story since I wrote it--brings back memories of a few people in a lot of pain. Tony Lucadello knew baseball when he built his walls. Maybe he intuitively knew about symbolism too.

FOLLOWING up on Monday’s entry about Epy Guerrero and in observance of MLB’s Opening Day, I offer today another greatest-hit entry about a baseball scout. Epy’s story had sad patches and an unhappy ending but this one is wholly tragic, albeit with a bit of justice at its end, subsequent to the original publication.
